Wildography Part 2 from our Safari Clientele

We continue to show off the power of photography and the impact these photographs have on preserving a spectacular safari moment. Behold Part 2 of our Wildography blog series where we indulge in the recent wildlife encounters captured by a few of our safari clientele.

The journey again continues on our beloved home ground of KZN and travels up to Botswana, more specifically to the heart of the Okavango Delta.

Makakatana Bay Lodge

Makakatana is the only privately owned safari lodge set on the banks of Lake St. Lucia within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park World Heritage Site. We are extraordinarily lucky to be a mere 2 hours away from this jewel of a spot that remains an ideal place to capture the moody coastlines and explore the wetland’s wildlife via game vehicle or boat cruise.

Our very own Paul ventured to Makakatana a few months back and managed to snap a steady shot of this gracious waterbuck.

Rhino River Lodge

Rhino River Lodge is a small, but quaint safari lodge located in the private Zululand Rhino Reserve, 30 kms shy of Hluhluwe. But don’t let its size fool you, because the lodge is filled with big personality, from wildlife to humans alike.

May 1st marked the introduction of 6 African wild dog on the reserve and the hype of these endangered species has been so contagious, I had to visit the lodge this past week and see the speedy and mischievous (by the looks of this picture) stars for myself!

Garonga Safari Camp

Garonga and Little Garonga are exclusive camps situated in the greater Makalali Conservancy situated west of Kruger National Park. We love that it is close to Kruger but far enough away from the popular tourist destination, offering guests an unhurried experience with leaps and bounds of character and charm.

A recent guest, Rebecca Esterhuizen, was fortunate enough topreserveher Big 5 safari moment by capturing these two inquisitive Makalali lion cubs staring directly at the camera.

PomPom Camp

PomPom Camp, one of the six members of the Under One Botswana Sky’s safari camp family, is situated in the heart of the vast, meandering waterways of the Okavango Delta. The camp’s accommodation consists of luxury safari tents with views of the magnificent PomPom lagoon.

Known as the predator capital of Africa, the Moremi Game Reserve will not disappoint with the amount of wildlife sightings it has to offer. This photo is of an Okavango leopard having a little afternoon siesta tucked away in a tree.
