If you think, follow, and live the travel-based industry, then you might have asked yourself, “What is this #TTOT hashtag that is always landing a top spot on the left hand side of my ‘Trends’ Twitter column?” Not only are we here to unlock the four letter acronym, we’re unleashing the power of this social forum and how it can be beneficial to you and your business.
The Travel Talk on Twitter Low-Down:
- It’s an open chat on Twitter that aims to round up all travellers from around the world to talk about what moves them most- travel!
- The chat is held every Tuesday GMT 9:30am/9:30pm; so for us South Africans that means at 11:30am sharp.
- Search for #TTOT on Twitter to join the conservation (We promise you, there is never a dull #TTOT moment.)
- Follow the 5 questions that will be posted every 10 minutes (by the hosts) and participate by responding in a Q&A format including the #TTOT hashtag:
Every week there is a new travel topic with a fresh batch of 5 questions, created by the participants themselves. Joining the fun is as easy as following, tweeting, and sharing your thoughts. In the meantime, you will learn a lot about diverse travel destinations, hidden local hot-spots, tastiest food joints, or humorous travel stories to lighten up your Tuesday.
What’s the Gimmick?
No gimmicks. #TTOT is an open conversation and the participating community is welcoming to all those interested in travel. It’s all about community engagement, and creating a central space for travellers to chat about anything travel related.
Why WildWeb Likes It:
We encourage all our safari lodge clients to participate in this weekly conversation. It’s the ideal platform to share their travel expertise with the #TTOT community, as well as highlight their small slice of Africa! With 150 characters to answer a #TTOT question, pictures can really speak a thousand words.
Interaction between participants happens naturally and you won’t believe the great conversations that can take place between people with the same interests as you. It is a beneficial and natural networking space and a place to make new Twitter friends.
We find new and relevant Twitter personalities and accounts to follow with interest every week, on behalf of our clients. We also notice a natural and organic growth in our own client Twitter fan bases after these sessions as new Twitter friends and contacts choose to follow us with interest too. It’s mutually beneficial and a lot of fun.
So grab a cup of coffee or tea before the Tuesday chats and interact with a community that speaks the same travel-loving language as you.
