Last week my great auntie poked me on Facebook. She is 70 years old dang-nabit. This got me thinking about the rise of online media and how quickly people are turning to the internet to communicate and even plan their lives. You can order your dinner online, book a movie, holiday, apply for a job and catch up with your friends and family living abroad. More than ever before people are plugging in to the www.
It goes without saying that in this day and age, socialites like my great aunt, and brands wanting to stay relevant, simply have to get with the programme or face slipping into obscurity.
WildWeb has been riding this online media wave for some time. We started off as a small web design house in a garage, putting together simple static websites. Today we have branched out into a more far reaching online company and are becoming more ‘campaign based’ in our dealings with our clients. Sure, we are still designing and hosting kick ass websites but we are starting to facilitate our clients’ full digital footprint across email, news and social media more frequently.
This multi-faceted approach has motivated us to form a dedicated division in WildWeb that will oversee our clients’ online strategies. For lack of a better term we are calling it ‘WildWeb Online Strategy’.
In a nutshell, WildWeb Online Strategy’s mandate is to customise an individual plan for each client and increase their website traffic through creative social media campaigns. Hmmm, sounds like a mouthful. It is. In more detail, we basically pull month on month website stats from a client’s website and plot realistic unique visitor targets for the next year. We then map out some clever ideas for our clients to generate and roll out relevant and inciting content across their website, blog, newsletters and social networks. All pointing back to their personal digital property – their website – where they turn their visitor into a customer. We track all of the progress along the way, put together a detailed account, and report back to the client.
Last year we test drove this strategy with a client of ours.
We first looked at unique visitors and used the data to forecast realistic goals for growth. We then actively came up with ways to achieve those numbers through Facebook, YouTube, email newsletters, blogging and sharing backlinks with trustworthy sources on the web.

The bottom line speaks for itself. Over the course of the year we experienced a big upturn of growth which, in the end, translated into online sales. We are confident that WildWeb Online Strategy is a platform that can duplicate these results with other clients.
