Take a look at sigmaconesthetics.ca, the latest portfolio in WildWeb’s website trophy cabinet. We flipped the switch live on it a week back and we are particularly proud of it. It is a real feather in our cap.
Some background… Sigmacon is a leading Canadian medical company and Sigmacon Esthetics is their skin care division who distribute an array of leading brands of skin products across North America.
When they approached us to build their website, we were frothing. And then they came with a particularly long ‘what it needs to do’ list. And we were even more stoked!
The stand out section of the website is the custom product showcase. This not just a simple list of products and a photo next to each. Sigmacon literally have 1000’s of products and each comes with a document load of information, supporting images and ingredients that needs to be displayed. Their products also had to be displayed according to different categories, like; brands, ingredients, professional products, etc.
A comprehensives Content Management System had to be built for this where a Sigmacon administrator can log in and upload all of their products, according to these specific categories.
When a visitor then goes onto the website and selects a particular category it will showcase all the products listed in there. So, there was the tricky job of displaying these products nice and neat on the front-end for all to view. With all of the product’s information, images and documents for each product, we had to be clever about not overloading the pages with too much text and images. In the end, we did a good job at achieving just this. Check out how we laid out the products – according to a brand (PCA Skin) – click here.
Sigmacon are a wholesaler for all of their Skin Products. They therefore have hundreds of ‘middle-men’ (clients) who supply their products on to you and me. They therefore wanted us to build a nifty form where visitors to the website could fill in their contact details and have a Sigmacon staff member track down the closest agent in their area.
They also wanted an area where prospective clients could sign up and become one of their suppliers. We did it here – click here.
Sigmacon also have a training division. They wanted us to create a way for them to upload information about their upcoming skin care events and have a form for visitors to sign up to attend these events. You can log onto their Training section to have a look at how we achieved this – click here.
Over and above all of this, the most impressive section of the website is undoubtedly the Professional Login, for Sigmacon’s Professionals – the middle-men we were talking about earlier.
Unfortunately, you have to be a Sigmacon Professional to access this section, so you will not be able to take a poke around. No worries. We thought that we could post some screenshots of it and explain what we did right at the bottom of this post.
Basically, the Professional Login section is a protected area where their ‘special’ members can log in, access product documents, view Sigmacon’s ‘Professional’ range of products, change their account information (Shipping address, etc) and most importantly purchase product stock.
And that is the capstone for us. The Shopping Cart. An ubber slick WildWeb orders cart.
After someone signs up as a Sigmacon Professional, and are approved b ySigmacon, they can browse through all of the products on display and simply add them to their orders cart, by clicking add and quality buttons. So simple and elegant. And it works. According to Sigmacon, within hours of going live, they had already received orders!
