Safari Stories from the Ant Collection

We could ramble and rave for days about why we love The Ant Collection  located in South Africa’s unspoilt Waterberg region. Old-school family charm, horseback riding safaris, passionate guides, fine dining, and practically guaranteed rhino viewing are a few of our favourites.

But when the Ant Collection reached out to their Facebook community via a post  asking previous guests to share their favourite Ants based memories through pictures and stories, the love for the safari lodge came pouring out. Notification by notification, the interaction on the post was astounding and a good testament to the positive affection guests have towards their home away from home safari lodge.

Here’s what the guests revealed on Facebook:

Joanna Bink: “So many exciting memories of the horseback riding, but this one is probably the most magic moment to me. An unforgettable lifetime experience at Ant’s Nest & Ant’s Hill Bush Homes.”

Els van Geijn-Oomen: “Easy, within the first 5 minutes of our first game drive. We just arrived an hour before. What you would call: out of the comfort zone (big time). But we will never forget…”

Silke Bosch: “There are many favourite pictures, but this one is somehow special… A shame there is no pictures with sound. I will never forget “this noise!” We need to come back! Hugs to all of you XXX”

They’re an independent media that faithfully represents the news and reviews of the safari travel industry. With a combined experience of over 100 years, they so playfully say, “what we don’t know about safaris isn’t worth knowing.”

Until the end of February the Good Safari Guide  will be running a #safaristory campaign, where they would like any and every safari-goer to share their experience with the travel-enthused community. They will be taking submissions via Facebook , Twitter , and even direct email at editor@goodsafariguide.com . Keep a close eye on this campaign, as submissions will be published in an upcoming blog, giving all safari-goers a chance to become Good Safari Guide famous!
