Pride of the Zambezi website launched

We have released a new website called Pride of the Zambezi. You can find it at prideofthezambezi.com.  The Pride of the Zambezi is a luxury houseboat on the Chobe River close to the entrance of the world famous Chobe National Park.

The first thing that you’ll notice, once you log on, is that it is big on imagery. Throughout the site, it’s crammed choc-o-block full of large, stunning, photographs of the Zambezi basin featuring beautiful landscapes and wildlife shots. To host this we have made use of a charming carousel display at the tops of each page.

Another key feature is the font that we used in the main headings on all of the pages. The font is called ‘Ajile Regular’. It’s not supported on your browser. And it should not be displaying. But it is.

Usually, telling the browser to display any text in ‘Ajile Regular’ would result in the text style breaking or reverting back to something awful – like Times Roman. Yuk! This is because most of the great looking fonts out there are not supported by your browsers. To make it work we have to use some clever css3 gymnastics. Namely the @font-face {} rule which allows you to download a particular font from our server to render the headings for you.

Anyways. Want to take a quick tour of prideofthezambezi.com – click here.
