Technology is increasing exponentially. Most evident to us normal folk is the growth in consumer tech. It seems like every other day some big tech company is launching a new ‘better’ device. Just a few weeks ago Apple launched its 10inch iPad, which is similar with the beginners drawing tablets. After some time in limbo land, European cellular giant, Nokia, has also recently come back to the tech party after launching its nifty looking Lumia phones. But, not only have gadgets been getting faster, better and cheaper, but un-tangible technology is also enjoying a rise in productivity.
A few weeks back we posted an article about the Internet; ‘The Internet – then and now’ presenting what the internet usage was like 10 years ago, compared to today. It highlighted just how far we have come digitally in regard to www accessibility and how pixels on screen are being consumed.
With all of this in mind, we have been pushing our clients to consider the ever increasing curve of online media and the importance of keeping their brand fresh and relevant to the audience out there. With the increase in resolution and screen sizes and the accessibility of fast internet connections something that is over three years old starts looking tired.
One of our clients, Amakhosi safari lodge, understood this importance and decided that it was time to upgrade their media section of their website. They were not asking for anything huge, simply a better look and feel to their gallery and video presentation on the website. Mainly this would translate into an increase in image scale and better, bigger presentation of their video and gallery portfolio.

According to the latest statistics on browser resolution (screen size), the market shows that over 93% of you out here are browsing the net on a screen resolution of 1200pixels wide or more . This means that something as simple as as lightbox popup image of less than 300pixels looks oldschool. Making your image bouquet on your website a little bigger is only one small way of upgrading and getting with the times. If your website is the old standard 964pixels wide, you might even consider a complete overhaul on your website design. Just saying!
